The Pirate Band received Excellent Ratings at the Region 10 UIL Marching Band Contest held at Port Neches Groves High School on October 21. Their ratings qualified them to advance to the Area C Marching Band Contest on Saturday, October 28 at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. The band has only advanced to this level of competition twice in school history. In 2015 the band finished in 22nd place in the 3A classification. This year the band finished 9th place in the 2A classification.
The Deweyville Pirate Band will be competing at the Region 10 UIL Marching Band Competition on Saturday, October 21, 2017. The band will perform at 11:30am at Port Neches Groves High School Stadium. Admission is $5 with children under 10 free. Receiving a 1st Division Rating this year would advance the band to the Area round competition held on Saturday, October 28, 2017. This competition will be held at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.
